The AfroPlay Collective is a community deeply connected to play and rooted in the African diaspora. We saw a gap in the representation of our unique play style and formed this collective to bridge it. We honor the resilience in our DNA to express joy, creating a place for those who play like us.

It takes a village to remember and celebrate how we play. Afro Play Collective seeks to foster collaboration, solidarity, and support for all players to build a strong sense of community and shared experience throughout the African diaspora.
Honoring the rich and diverse examples of play in our community, both historically and traditionally, we aim to provide a platform for elevating and amplifying our voices and experiences with the care and consideration they deserve.
We prioritize play and creativity as liberating tools for self-expression, empowerment, healing, and pathways to joy, in a way that honors the diversity of our ancestors and ourselves in this present moment.
We honor that it takes all kinds for us to truly play, and as a collective, we work to challenge and dismantle stereotypes, systemic barriers to opportunities, and strive for equitable representation in all areas of play.
